First Post

Friends... rejoice! I will (temporarily) stop sending you fifty screenshots of different fonts and pictures, and texts begging for opinions and thoughts. I am finally launching my blog which has been in the making for years (quite literally), but has been postponed for too many reasons. College applications, senior year, high school graduation and then my first year at college got in the way of any chance I may have had to sit down, prepare my blog, and write this very first post!

It may seem like a simple task—how hard can it be to sign up on a blogging site and write a few posts?—but a lot of thought has been put on the title of the blog and long hours have been spent on perfecting and editing the layout to my liking. Once I had the basics set up, however, my displeasure with the title of the blog kept me from writing and putting my blog out there. Finding the perfect blog name seemed essential to me in order to have blog identity, but although I am still searching for a permanent name, I have decided to put that aside for a bit and officially start this thing!

So, I welcome you to V.1 of Auburnette, blog named after that one particular feature strangers and friends alike always seem to comment on: my hair color. From the title you might think I'll be talking about my hair in future posts, but I will be talking about much more than just that. I have to admit that my blog will not focus solely on a particular topic or theme (like many bloggers do), but instead will feature things I love and am passionate about. There will be posts about books, makeup, culture, travel, and personal thoughts, with the occasional politics post thrown in the mix. In the future, my blog may have a particular focus, but at the moment the blog will be a messy mix of mumbo jumbo.

Just like any other blogger, I encourage anyone who reads my blog to leave comments, reactions, and even criticism, as I am always open to hearing what others have to say! I am really excited to finally get this started, and I thank you so much for being one of the first few people to read my blog. Here's to what's to come!
